It's all very well eating like this for a month, but if you continued with this diet - just exactly how long would you live and how much of that time would be healthy and disease-free?

Hey Jen! First, congrats on choosing to compete! What got you interested in competing and in becoming a personal trainer?
It's a little scary at first isn't it? There are a lot of awesome forums/groups to help out. Are you on facebook? I could direct you to a lot more sources and it would be awesome to chat with a fellow competitor! You can add me there if you are, if not my e-mail is renee@reneeprimeau.com. It would be great to hear how things are going with you.
Yes it is expensive! There are ways to make it cheaper, though. Here is an article on some of the costs and some ideas: http://bit.ly/bSGxTN
Thanks a lot for the compliments Jen :)I really appreciate that.

I'm looking forward to chatting!

Talk to you soon,

Renee-
I saw your videos posted on you tube and want to say thanks first off. I'm a personal trainer new to the industry and I am 9 weeks out from my first figure competition. A little lost and nervous would be putting it lightly. I have no coach (other than the dreaded 360 mirrors at my club) and I also am a little concerned how much this will cost me in the end. I'm making some pretty fantastic gains where they are needed but, how do you personally compete when the actual cost of the proper prep (suit, ect.) is really quite high. Any tips or sites you could throw my way would be appreciated! Great overall form by the way, you have earned it.

Sincerely- The little lost novice.

If you eat up to 1 g of TBHQ, it will cause toxicity in your body - eat 5 g and you can die. Side effects include nausea, vomiting, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), delirium and collapse. Tests done on lab rats resulted in developing cancers and alterations to DNA. Lovely stuff.

Hi Jill,

Thank you for your comment. Nordic walking is like a cross between walking and cross country skiing that burns up to 20% more calories than regular walking. With the support of the poles, it is favored by arthritis sufferers because it provides extra support, helps with balance and reduces strain on the knees. The poles act like a second pair of legs that take a lot of the impact and stress off your actual legs. The poles are also good exercise for your arms and upper body, and give you a more overall workout than just plain walking. You can find out more from the American Nordic Walking Association.

Hi,

Does anyone have any information about the effects of Nordic walking on Rhematoid arthritis suffers? or any other forms of arthritis? It is a low impact exercise and has the added benefit of being in the outdoors.

I look forward to your reply.

That's awesome! There are two things you might not know about Omega 3: Studies have shown it to accelerate weight loss (see http://fitlode.com/2010/06/03/the-alpha-and-omega-of-fat-burning/) and it lowers your resting heart rate, so you have to work harder to reach your target heart rate, which means more fat loss! It's all good!
