Your Questions:
I’ve always had really strong hamstrings but weak quads – what can I do to balance them out?
– Sophie from Miami
I’m a true believer that training clients to completely eliminate weaknesses, whether genetic or exercise-related, should be job number one.
On your lower body training days, switch to a 2:1 regime for six weeks. Work heavy quads, i.e. leg press 8-10 reps, one leg quad exercise like dumbbell split lunges (15 reps), and follow with dumbbell Romanian dead lifts, using a lighter weight (20 reps).
This is an excellent superset that I am currently using for a client with this particular imbalance. ENJOY!
